The Canada Emergency Commercial Rent Assistance (CECRA) program was launched on May 25th to help small businesses cope with the COVID-19 crisis. This financial support was welcomed by the commercial real estate industry and its tenants, however, NAIOP members from across Canada have questions regarding the program’s eligibility requirements and its operation. 

To help address these questions, NAIOP Greater Toronto is hosting a virtual roundtable for NAIOP’s national membership with representatives from the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) and the Department of Finance. 

The roundtable will include: 

Evan Siddall, President and CEO, Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation 
Nadine Leblanc, Chief Risk Officer, Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation 
Robert Sample, Director General, Financial Stability and Capital Markets, Department of Finance  
Donna Aronson, Economist, Capital Markets Division, Department of Finance  

The discussion will focus on CECRA and will provide an opportunity for NAIOP members seeking clarifications on the program. Barry Campbell, former Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Finance and President of Campbell Strategies, will moderate the discussion.
